Del Rio, Texas
Chugach Government Solutions (Chugach) proudly took part in “Wing Day” at Laughlin Air Force Base (AFB), an event hosted by the 47th Flying Training Wing to showcase the installation’s mission-critical operations and foster deeper connection across the base community.
While traditionally reserved for military personnel, this time Wing Day spotlighted the vital role of mission partners like Chugach, whose team provides comprehensive Base Operations Support (BOS) services across Laughlin. Chugach had the honor of hosting Colonel Tyler Ellison, Commander of the 47th Flying Training Wing, for a guided tour through key operational areas known informally as the “Trade Shops.” Accompanied by the Deputy Wing Commander, Civil Engineer (CE) Squadron Commander, Contracting Officer Representatives, and other base leaders, Colonel Ellison visited the electrical, HVAC, heavy equipment, and Energy Monitoring and Control System (EMCS) shops—each critical to maintaining the base’s infrastructure, flightline operations, and energy efficiency.

One of the day’s highlights came during a discussion of the base’s potable water system, where Colonel Ellison expressed strong interest in how Chugach is responding to Texas’s dry summer conditions. The team detailed their strategies for ensuring safe, consistent water delivery amid regional drought a reflection of Chugach’s proactive approach to mission readiness.
Chugach’s impact goes far beyond these technical divisions. From fire truck and fleet maintenance to warehouse operations that support predictive and preventive logistics, and even maintenance of the flightline lighting and pavement, Chugach plays a vital role in Laughlin’s operational continuity. The team also supports quality-of-life facilities such as the marina and lakeside cabins—underscoring the full spectrum of services they provide to enhance life and mission performance on base.
“Wing Day was a tremendous success,” said Jose Rocha, Chugach Program Manager. “It gave us a chance to not only demonstrate the technical work we do, but to highlight the pride, commitment, and cohesion that define our team every day. I’m proud of the work we do, not just today, but every day.”
Throughout the day, a shared message echoed across military, civil, and contractor personnel: unity of purpose. Whether in uniform or in hard hats, each individual was driven by the common mission, supporting the warfighter and ensuring Laughlin’s readiness. That spirit of collaboration and the mutual respect between all who serve the mission underscored the strength of the partnership between Chugach and the U.S. Air Force.
As a trusted Department of Defense partner, Chugach Government Solutions continues to play an integral role in delivering high-quality infrastructure and maintenance services to military installations worldwide, with a strong focus on partnership, mission support, and operational excellence.
