Strength in the Arctic: Chugach Government Solutions Continues Longstanding Support to Clear Space Force Station

For nearly a decade, Chugach Government Solutions, through its wholly owned subsidiary, Wolf Creek Federal Services (WCFS) has been a steady presence at Clear Space Force Station (SFS) quietly delivering the kind of Arctic-tested support that keeps one of America’s most strategic radar sites operating flawlessly in some of the harshest conditions on Earth.

A Mission That Endures

Clear SFS hosts two globally significant radar systems—Solid State Phased Array Radar System (SSPARS) and the newly operational Long‑Range Discrimination Radar (LRDR)—both central to the Ballistic Missile Early Warning System (BMEWS). These systems provide early detection of intercontinental ballistic missile threats aimed at the United States. WCFS, subcontracting under InDyne, Inc., provides the operational backbone that keeps these systems mission‑ready.

Robert Cursio, WCFS General Manager describes the missions, “Clear Space Force Station demands a level of precision, resilience, and steadiness that few teams in the world can deliver. What makes Wolf Creek exceptional is not just our technical capability, but our people—professionals who choose to show up every day in one of the harshest environments on earth because they believe in the mission and in protecting our nation.”

A Legacy of Proven Performance in the Arctic

WCFS first began supporting SSPARS operations at Clear SFS in 2018, establishing a reputation for reliability, technical skill, and mission focus in one of the nation’s most strategically important radar locations. Through exceptional performance and a culture centered on continuous improvement, the team became the first in the SSPARS program’s 25‑year history to earn a second consecutive Base Operations Support contract—an achievement that reflects both longevity and consistent excellence.

Today, WCFS supports the current contract (May 1, 2026–January 31, 2031) with a workforce of 48 full‑time employees and a dedicated group of on‑call personnel. Together, they deliver the full breadth of operations and support services essential to Clear SFS, including logistics and warehousing, bulk fuel management, vehicle operations and maintenance, dining facility services, recreation, and specialized facility work such as sheet metal repairs, painting, and asbestos identification and abatement.

Operating in Interior Alaska requires a level of resilience few installations demand. Clear SFS experiences some of the harshest conditions in the United States, with winter temperatures plunging below –55°F for extended periods. Despite these challenges, WCFS maintains year-round, uninterrupted mission support throughout every arctic season.

Behind every radar sweep, every alert, and every moment of operational readiness at Clear SFS is a team of dedicated professionals whose work ensures continuity of operations for the U.S. Space Force. WCFS personnel serve as force multipliers—quiet professionals who perform the logistics, maintenance, and support services that

sustain the nation’s missile-warning architecture. As WCFS Sr. Project Manager, Ramsay Pryce, shared, “I’m proud to lead our WCFS SSPARS team that plays a central role in identifying, analyzing, planning, programming, overseeing, and executing the myriad processes that directly support and enhance the national goal of protecting our country.”
